The first par 5 at Shilo Country Club usually plays down wind, and features a severely sloping right to left fairway that gently doglegs to the left. A definite birdie chance, as the fairway is wide and the green relatively large. The Aspen poplar forest that frames the following 7 holes shows up on the left side of the fairway and the native fescues and prairie grasses make up the rough along the right. A bunker protects the left side of the green which slopes significantly back to front creating two tiers, making for some difficult pin placements.
