Hole 1

Description

This is a difficult starting hole that plays over 400 yards over a hill that doglegs right. The fairway is a difficult one to hit but do so and birdie or par become very makable scores. A miss to the left of the fairway will leave you with a look at the green but a difficult lie in the native fescue grasses and unforgiving lies. The right side is lined with a variety of trees and thick bush, so an errant tee shot can get you in some quick trouble out of the gate. The green is open and slopes severely from back to front. Missing short is ideal as going over will leave you with a difficult up and down. Golfers learn quickly that the Shilo greens are the smoothest and fastest in the West-man area. Par is a good score.
